My motto is Carpe Diem – Seize the Day, Get On with It!, and Make the Most of Every Minute! I try to live that way and bring this to the classroom and to my relationships with scholars each and every day. Taylor Mali once said, when asked, "What do you make being a teacher? His answer was, A Difference, I make a Difference Every Day!” And that is exactly how I feel. The best part of the job is that when, not if, I make a mistake, I get to start over with yet another opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child. In other words, I have the best job in the world!
My husband, David, and I have been married for 21 years. We have 2 sons, 10 and 13. I graduated from Texas A&M in 1994 with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Physical Education. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1999 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration of Long-term Care Facilities. My love for teaching came later in life for me. I started teaching at the Granbury Regional Juvenile Justice Center in 2013. I moved to Everman ISD for 2 years and now I have found my home here at Wheat Middle School. I am thrilled and excited to be part of the Yellow Jacket family, and look forward to working with you and your scholars in this very important 8th grade transition year.
